In December 2008 we got a huge surprise. Snow! Louisiana rarely gets snow, especially this much. I took the first photo at about 4:30 a.m. The next one is Bob playing in the snow, and the last is our rock garden covered in a blanket of white.

 

Grand Isle is Louisiana's own Cajun Bahamas! Hurricane Katrina almost destroyed this little barrier island. But residents and volunteers worked together to bring it back to life. Grand Isle is about 7 miles long and is home to 1500 or so full-time residents. The Tarpon Rodeo is a popular annual event that draws thousands of visitors each year. Grand Isle has great Hotels, Beach Houses and Cabins to rent.
