Our family lives in south central Louisiana on 35 acres where we grow most of our own vegetables and have a small flock of laying hens. The peppers in our jelly come from our garden and the strawberries are from a nearby grower.

I learned to cook and preserve food from my mom and both my grandmothers. Each spring and fall my husband and our two sons and I plant vegetables that eventually get canned and frozen to use throughout the year.
